The Project

This basement had sat as bare storage and utility space for years: poured concrete floors, exposed framing, and no real function beyond holding boxes and mechanicals. The homeowners wanted a genuine living space: a family room, a bedroom, and a full bathroom, without losing the storage and utility access they still needed.

On-Site Challenge

Turning part of the basement into a genuine bedroom meant the space had to meet Georgia's egress requirements for legal sleeping rooms, a code detail that shapes window and door placement long before framing starts. We planned the layout around that requirement from day one instead of working around it after the fact.
